Hotel Residenza del Duca – Amalfi, Italy
http://www.residencedelduca.it
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during March 2010. The hotel is nothing less than amazing. It is like a boutique hotel where each room is unique and has a different theme. The owners thought of every last detail when designing the rooms as there wasn’t one little thing I felt I was missing. Each piece of furniture is unique and antique looking. We had a private terrace overlooking the piazza underneath which was lovely! The beds where comfortable and the room quite which allowed a good night’s sleep. The staff is very nice and very helpful. If you come with a car, there is a garage service that charges by the day. Only downfall is that we had to carry our luggage about 70 steps to reach the hotel – but it was well worth it! If you come during the season (which start in April and lasts all summer), there is a porter that carries your luggage all the way to the room.
Taverna degli Apostoli – Piazza del Duomo, Amalfi, Italy
here is another review
If you are in Amalfi – do not miss Taverna degli Apostoli! This is a wonderful restaurant in Amalfi! The restaurant is located in the building of the central church, just underneath it. When you enter, you think you’ve walked into an art gallery – the walls are covered with paintings, a mixture of modern and classic and the space contains many sculptures. Each table is unique and two of them have a view to the main piazza of Amalfi. The food is amazing! Don’t miss the sea shell pasta and the shrimp in lemon sauce – 2 unforgettable dishes! Luigi-the owner, one of the nicest most welcoming people we met during our visit to Italy. The prices are really ok compared to other restaurants in the area.
