Bozone (n.): The substance surrounding stupid people that stops bright ideas from penetrating. The bozone layer, unfortunately, shows little sign of breaking down in the near future.
Kevin, my college body, told me in the mid eighties that a lot of things you do not like in life can be explained if you account for the fact that 98% of the people in the world are stupid. while i have not fully agreed with this saying, it has stayed with me for many years. i prefer to think it is lack of discipline, and not stupidity. but still, it is hard to dis-prove this theory.
thanks again for the mensa invitational.
while the idea of Bozone, makes one smile, in my opinion, it is not people’s ignorance or stupidity that makes good ideas not work, but just a simple resistence to change
we are animals of routines. and routines are tough to change.
at first we make routines, then our routines make us.
some routines, or traits, were very useful in getting us to be the wonderful people we are, but are no longer useful.
Disposing of them and building a larger repertoire or reactions to certain emotions, fears, and situations, (such as change) is very difficult.
