there is a beautiful, but touristic peninsula called istria. Rovinj is one good location. expect old villages, water and castles on top of a hill
in Opatija, there is a nice promenade. Nilly says ‘think of Venice or Nice’

The town of Porec should be also mentioned as a place to visit, but Rovinj is the most beautiful town in Istria.
